Salem ZBA approves four development petitions in housing-focused meeting

Salem Zoning Board approves four development petitions with parking concessions. Chair Nina Vyedin presided over unanimous approvals of variances for four residential projects, with votes of five in favor and zero opposed on each petition. Israel Berl received a parking variance at 2 Rockdale Avenue with conditions requiring softscaping and enhanced curbing.
B4 and After Design, LLC won approval for converting a single-family home to two families at 8 Briggs Street, agreeing to single on-site parking instead of tandem spaces. Marc Tranos secured variances for a 2.5-story rear addition creating a two-family house at 111 Mason Street after agreeing to eliminate a second curb cut. Robert Cabrera was approved for a 19-foot accessory dwelling unit at 61 Salem Street, limited to a side-setback variance.
