Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of July 29, 2026

Salem Zoning Board of Appeals approves five residential projects in July session. Acting Chair Christa McGaha led the board through variances and special permits for residential additions and conversions on July 29. Arsen Sheraj's reapplication at 15 Abbott Street to convert a two-family to three-family house with a third-floor dormer passed 5-0 despite prior approval having lapsed in January 2025 due to economic conditions.

The board also approved permits for Carrie Ditcher at 21 Warren Street, Robert Beverly at 46 Chestnut Street, and Anthony Huntley's accessory dwelling unit at 15 Willow Avenue, plus a variance for Charles Barton at 14 Gallows Hill Road that passed 4-1 with Member Peter Habib dissenting on size concerns.
