Salem Harbor Port Authority approves $200K dredging planning grant. Designated Chairperson Captain Fred Ryan and Port Director Captain Bill McHugh led the board's decision to accept a $200,000 grant from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center for harbor dredging planning and navigation modeling. The project will catalog seabed structures and assess vessel specifications relative to existing infrastructure, including a sewer transmission line near the turning basin.
The Authority also set October parking rates at $4 per hour with a 20 percent resident discount and raised parking fines to $100 per day during the seasonal surge before Halloween.
