Salem Transportation Commission approves updated Complete Streets Prioritization Plan

Salem Transportation Commission unanimously approves updated Complete Streets Prioritization Plan with 13 projects. Transportation Planner Eric Gemperline presented the plan identifying projects designed to expand safe and accessible transportation options across the city, including protected bike lanes, raised crosswalks, and enhanced pedestrian facilities. Projects are ranked using the Safety Action Plan and Traffic Calming Priority Tool developed in 2021.

The city can now pursue up to one million dollars in annual construction funding through state grants. The commission voted five to zero in favor.
