SALEM — Transportation Commission approves North Street resident parking permits despite ongoing neighborhood dispute. By a 5-0 vote, the Commission recommended resident permits for Units 4 and 6 at 27 North Street in Zone C, one permit per unit with no visitor passes. The vote followed debate on parking scarcity and ordinance interpretation; Commissioners Brendan Casey and Jeff Swartz cited the City Solicitor's opinion supporting jurisdiction.
The recommendation goes to City Council for final action.
