Transportation Commission · Meeting of January 21, 2026

Salem Transportation Commission approves parking fee increases and expands resident permit access. The commission voted unanimously to raise October resident permit parking fines from $75 to $100 and in a 2-1 vote extended the seasonal period to start September 15. The commission approved fee revisions at multiple locations, increasing Green Trail parking to $5 per hour.

Commissioners approved allowing residents on the south side of Essex Street and parcels 388-390 to participate in resident permit parking programs, enabling them to park in designated zones citywide. The commission deferred action on a separate 27 North Street request.
