Salem Race Equity Commission advances discrimination form improvements. The six-member body discussed expanding the visibility of the city's discrimination reporting form and simplifying its language during its June 4 meeting. Member Dr.
Vanita Naidoo recommended adding assistive technology and testing form effectiveness; member Jennifer Winsor proposed linking to community resources and adding a question soliciting resident suggestions. The commission also advanced grant applications, with Chair Regina Zaragoza Frey, Vice Chair Dr. Shelby Ortega, and member Alexandra Ramos identifying state and private funding sources, and rescheduled its July meeting to July 16 to accommodate the July 4th holiday.
