Salem Planning Board approves Pediatric Associates Boston Street project

Salem Planning Board signs off unanimously on Pediatric Associates project. The board voted 6-0 to allow interior renovations, parking expansion, and site improvements. Four residential and mixed-use projects moved to October 15, including Harborlight Homes and Lifebridge North Shore's 53-unit affordable housing with 70-bed shelter (extended 45 days, 5-0 with one abstention) and The Salem Inn's 16-unit hotel renovation.
The board unanimously disapproved a preliminary subdivision for Prime Storage Shetland at 47 Congress Street for inadequate street layout and livability planning, and voted unanimously to recommend City Council ban large data centers, with a working group to propose power thresholds distinguishing routine business use from hyper-scaler artificial intelligence facilities.
