Park Commission Approves Winter Island Parking Fee Increase

SALEM — Park commission approves significant Winter Island parking fee increase. The Salem Park and Recreation Commission unanimously approved raising daily parking fees at Winter Island from $10 to $15 on weekdays and from $15 to $25 on weekends and holidays, effective immediately, projecting additional beach parking revenue. The body also unanimously approved the High Street Park Renovation Project concept design contingent on $425,000 in state PARC grant funding and a city match, with construction slated for July 2027 through June 2028.
The commission additionally approved permits for 12 summer and fall public events at city parks and facilities. Chair James Shea, Vice Chair Alex Sanchez, and Member Robert Callahan voted on all matters; members Deborah Amaral and Amy Everitt were absent.
