SALEM — Park and Recreation Commission approves four community events for Salem Common and Deadhorse Beach. The commission, with Robert Callahan acting as chairman, unanimously approved the First Muster Celebration on April 11, the North Shore Pride Festival on June 27 with approximately 100 vendors and 14 food trucks, a weekly yoga class at Deadhorse Beach running Saturdays from June 6 through September 5, and the Mental Make-over Event on August 2 expecting approximately 500 attendees. The commission also unanimously elected James Shea as chair and Alex Sanchez as vice chair, and discussed a planned tree evaluation for Salem Common with Tree Warden Kieran Kavanaugh.
