Park Commission Approves Summer Events, Winter Island Rate Increases

SALEM — Park Commission unanimously approves summer festival events and increases Winter Island facility rates. Robert Callahan, acting as chair, presided as the commission approved Willows Shell for the Jazz and Soul Festival on August 15, 2026, with 3,000 expected attendees, along with the Salem Commons neighborhood annual lawn party on September 12 and a rescheduled Local Music Showcase. Winter Island tent site rates increased to 45 dollars per night, RV sites to 50 to 60 dollars per night, and function hall rental to 350 to 450 dollars per night for Salem residents.
The commission also unanimously approved relocating the Mack Park Farm beehive project to a new location set 30 feet off the main trail.
