Salem's Community Preservation Committee ranked 12 fiscal 2026 funding applications, with nine projects receiving High priority status. Committee Chair Bart Hoskins and eight members voted on proposals including High Street Park Renovation and Lafayette Housing Critical Capital Repairs, both approved unanimously as High priorities. Window Restoration at Salem Playhouse initially failed a High motion 4-5 but passed unanimously on reconsideration.
Pioneer Village Relocation and Restoration, opposed by committee members Mele and Martin as lower priority than other projects, initially failed a High motion 4-4 before being ranked Medium 8-0. The committee directed staff to circulate a final ranking sheet for approval at the May 12 meeting.
