Community Preservation Committee approves five project eligibility determinations

SALEM — Community Preservation Committee unanimously clears five projects for CPA funding. The Salem board determined eligibility for the Woman's Friend Society's Emmerton House exterior restoration, the Salem Playhouse's First Universalist Church window work, the city's Forest River Pool shade structure, the High Street Park playground renovation, and the House of the Seven Gables' Nathaniel Hawthorne Birthplace improvements. CPA Administrator Patricia Kelleher reported approximately $180,000 in available funding from underestimated surcharges, state match funds, and returned project balances, with full funding availability expected after full applications are due.
