Commission on Disabilities · Meeting of March 17, 2026
Salem Commission on Disabilities votes to approve $5,000 in Special Olympics funding. Commissioner Rebecca Christie moved to allocate $5,000 to the sixth annual Unified Sports Program at Salem High School on May 21, and the motion carried unanimously with seven commissioners present and Chair Debra Lobsitz presiding. The commission also discussed planning a June Beep Baseball event and raised accessibility concerns about Highland Avenue near Pep Boys, where narrow sidewalk conditions force wheelchair users into the bike lane.
