Commission on Disabilities approves prior minutes, reviews accessibility initiatives

Salem Commission on Disabilities reviews major accessibility projects. The board voted unanimously to approve November minutes at its January 20 meeting. ADA Coordinator Lisa Cammarata reported on an Institute for Human Centered Design site visit to City Hall Annex and the Fire Department, with plans to share findings publicly and support business accessibility efforts.

City Engineering Roadway Project Manager Gisell DeLaCruz presented 2027 Boston Street improvements featuring red trapezoid delineators between pedestrian and bike paths; commissioners unanimously endorsed the plan. The Commission reviewed renderings for Common Bandstand accessibility, with Cammarata to provide updates on final design. Commissioner Larry Broisman was confirmed to represent the Commission at Traffic and Parking Commission meetings.
