Board Requests Design Changes for Front Street Window Project

SALEM — Design board votes to continue Front Street window replacement review pending additional specifications. The Design Review Board voted unanimously to continue consideration of Ben Goldberg's proposal to replace 34 windows on the second and third floors of 6 Front Street. Chair Paul Durand and member Sarah Tarbet expressed concerns that the proposed vinyl double-pane windows feature mullions that are too thick and proportions that may appear too heavy for the downtown facade.
Vice Chair Marc Perras requested detailed drawings comparing the proposed and existing window dimensions, along with an example of the new design in a brick facade.
