Salem Cemetery Commission unanimously approved $644,000 in trust fund withdrawals for historic chapel restoration and cemetery improvements. The commission approved $124,000 from the Dickson Memorial Chapel Trust Fund for exterior weatherproofing and masonry pointing of the chapel, completing multi-year restoration efforts to protect the historic structure. Additional approvals included $80,000 for stormwater drainage repairs protecting the chapel, $300,000 from the Melden Trust Fund, and $140,000 from the Perpetual Care Trust Fund for West Chapel Slope improvements to create future interment options.
