SALEM — Zero Waste Salem committee approves revised mission statement and addresses Book Swap overcrowding. The committee unanimously approved a streamlined version of its mission statement at its April meeting. Eight committee members and Waste Reduction Coordinator Alisa Cherkasova attended.
With its March Book Swap drawing about 850 attendees, the committee faced overcrowding challenges; Clerk Sandra O'Donnell will lead a task force to investigate relocating future events to larger venues including Salem High School and the Community Learning Center.
