Salem School Committee approves superintendent screening committee

Salem School Committee establishes superintendent search screening panel with emphasis on inclusion. The committee unanimously approved screening committee membership derived from approximately 95 applicants, prioritizing staff working with multilingual learners and students with special needs alongside teachers, administrators, and community members. Ann Berman, Salem Teachers Union President, and Assistant Principal Yamilis Cruz of Bentley Academy Innovation School were added to the committee.
AJ Hoffman was unanimously appointed as Screening Committee Chair. The screening committee will hold its first meeting April 15, with superintendent job applications closing April 16.
