Board of Public Library Trustees · Meeting of February 19, 2026
Salem Public Library trustees approve surveillance policy, advance building repairs. The board unanimously approved a revised video surveillance policy following City Solicitor review at its February 19 meeting, with Trustee Bob Morin moving and Trustee Greg April seconding the motion. Library Director Tara Mansfield reported that a recent snowstorm caused ice-dam damage requiring professional repair to the portico.
Seger Architects will bid the brownstone stair restoration project in March, with construction to begin April 30. Trustee Maria Buckley reported that Cinema Salem has agreed to partner on a fundraiser, though she noted the library Friends group remains inactive and was never registered as a 501(c)(3).
