Salem Hosts Living Green Expo Sunday, Parade Registration Closes Tuesday
Mayor Dominick Pangallo and the City of Salem are bringing a Living Green Expo to Old Town Hall this Sunday, June 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the same weekend the city's Salem 400+ Heritage Days Parade registration is racing toward its deadline with more than 50 groups already signed up.

The Living Green Expo, hosted by Mayor Pangallo and city departments, takes place Sunday at Old Town Hall, running through 1 p.m. The free event is part of Salem's broader sustainability programming.
Also drawing attention this weekend: parade registration for the Salem 400+ Heritage Days Parade on August 1 is nearly full. Over 50 groups have already signed up, and the city extended the registration deadline to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30 — but officials are warning prospective participants not to wait, as spots are expected to fill before that cutoff. The parade will march through Salem as part of the city's milestone 400th anniversary year.
Separately, the Salem Skipper on-demand ride-share service has been extended through September 30, 2026, thanks to newly acquired one-time funding and service adjustments. The service had previously been set to wind down in early August.
