Salem Planning Board approves 340-unit Harrison Road development after design debate. AvalonBay Communities won approval 7-0 with two abstentions for the first phase of Forest River Residences, which includes 524 parking spaces, a conservation trailhead connection, and 10 dedicated parking spaces for the trailhead. Board members resolved discussion of signage and color coordination with an adjacent second-phase project.

The board also unanimously approved a 735-unit self-storage facility at 45 Jefferson Avenue and continued four projects including a second-phase 145-unit residential conversion by Winn Development.
