Mayor Dominick Pangallo announced the release of the latest episode of his podcast, Salem Compass, on Oct. 27.

The podcast highlights Salem related topics through conversations on city initiatives, interviews with community leaders, updates on local issues and spotlights on topics of interest. New episodes are released regularly and are available on major podcast platforms including Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music.

The newest episode features a conversation between Pangallo and City of Salem Special Events Manager Jeremy Fiske. As the city approaches the end of "spooky season," the two discuss what it takes to plan and execute Haunted Happenings, an event of that scale, along with what Fiske's job entails outside of that busy time of year. They also discuss what has gone into bringing Salem 400+ to the community throughout 2026.

Future episodes are planned on topics including community development in Salem, public services and local community leadership. Listeners can submit questions or topic suggestions by emailing mayor@salem.com.

The podcast's companion digital newsletter, Salem Compass, is in its fourth year of production and remains available on the City of Salem website, where residents can also subscribe to receive issues by email. Residents can follow Salem Compass on their preferred podcast platform or visit the Salem Compass hub on the city's website to stay updated on future episodes.
