Historical Commission OKs Cedar Fencing, Continues Multiple Projects

Salem Historical Commission approves fencing with cedar requirement, continues five applications. The commission approved 2 River Street fencing from Daniel and Mary Hecht with cedar material specifications, Vice Chair Kelly Tyler-Lewis presiding in Chair Vijay Joyce's absence. Five other applications continued to February 4, including Washington Square bandstand renovation and Essex Street Fire Station electrical upgrades with a directed site visit.

The commission unanimously reissued a Certificate of Appropriateness for 293 Lafayette Street for wood siding restoration and will explore removing personal applicant information from public forms following email scams falsely claiming approval.
