Salem Historical Commission approves Peabody Essex Museum's major accessibility ramp with preservation conditions. The commission unanimously approved installation of an ADA ramp at the rear entrance of the Gardner-Pingree House, conditional on the museum providing a timeline for completing a delinquent iron-fence replacement on Brown Street. The commission also processed amendments for the City of Salem's 5 Broad Street project, with seven members voting to approve (Brendan Murray abstained) window replacement, relocation of six HVAC condenser units with 4-foot fencing, and new roofing with GAF Slateline asphalt shingles in antique slate with slate on dormers.
Six applications were continued to May 20 for further review and site visits.
