Design Review Board closes joint hearing on Forest River Residences phase two.

SALEM — Design Review Board and Planning Board jointly close public hearing on Forest River Residences phase two. WinnDevelopment Companies LLC proposes 145 units through adaptive reuse of three Salem State University South Campus buildings and construction of one new four-story residential building on Harrison Road and Loring Avenue, with approximately 159 parking spaces and landscaped common areas. Design Review Board members Marc Perras, Paul Durand, Daniel Estes, and Catherine Miller were present; Planning Board Chair Kirt Rieder and six members attended.

Boards voted unanimously to close the hearing; applicant team was asked to provide additional renderings, clarify architectural details including awning design and brick coursing, and study solar panel feasibility in consultation with the National Park Service and Massachusetts Historical Commission.
