Design Review Board · Meeting of February 25, 2026

SALEM — Design Review Board approves lighted tavern sign; two major projects continued. The board unanimously approved a 15-inch-tall lighted sign for The Neighborhood Tavern at 26 New Derby Street but required the owner to return with a full facade design. In separate unanimous votes, the board continued schematic review of the Salem Tabernacle Congregational Church's adaptive reuse into 48 permanently affordable apartments for at-risk veterans and design review of the first phase of Forest River Residences, a 340-unit residential complex with 524 parking spaces, requesting revisions to facade complexity, materials, and pedestrian space integration in both projects.
