Design Review Board · Meeting of January 28, 2026
SALEM — Design Review Board clears Lafayette Street health center and self-storage facility. The board unanimously recommended final approval of Phase 2 for a four-story health center at 73 Lafayette Street at the corner of Lafayette and Derby Streets, requiring submission of a landscape plan before construction begins; the project includes 18 to 20 months of phased work with the Harbor Walk remaining open throughout. A companion vote approved the self-storage facility at 45 Jefferson Avenue, recommending that the Planning Board consider bollard placements.
Stephanie Owens, Senior Planner, announced an upcoming joint meeting with the Planning Board on February 19 to review Salem State University's South Campus Chapter 40R proposal, the first such state-statute zoning project to advance to the Planning Board.
