SALEM — The Salem Conservation Commission approved eight determinations and orders while continuing review of two major projects. The commission unanimously issued an Order of Conditions for a dog park and fitness facility at 64 Grove Street, requiring permanent dog-park waste management and a maintenance plan submitted to conservation agent Rachel Vresilovic. The commission continued the AvalonBay Communities Inc. multi-family residential development at Salem State South Campus to March 17 pending peer review of the stormwater plan, with member Lucia DelNegro raising concerns the project is over-built and too close to wetlands.
The commission extended an Order of Conditions for Children's Island for three years and certified completion of the Palmer Cover Park project.
