Commission Approves St. Peter's Church Renovation, Fire Station Upgrades

Salem Historical Commission approves preservation and emergency upgrades. The Salem Historical Commission approved comprehensive exterior renovations to St. Peter's Church, a structure dating to 1833, and emergency electrical upgrades at the Fire Department headquarters.
Rebecca English motioned for the church work; Robert Peterson seconded, with the vote 6-1 (Brendan Murray abstaining). Mark Meche motioned for the fire station work, approved unanimously 7-0. The commission also approved cornice restoration at 35 Flint Street while continuing design deliberation on the Salem Common bandstand Phase 2 restoration, tabling decisions on projects at four other addresses to future March meetings.
