City Council committees hear departmental FY27 budget requests and capital plans

SALEM — City Council hears $4.1 million Public Services, $10.5 million capital budgets. The Committee on Administration and Finance and Committee of the Whole met jointly on June 3 to hear departmental presentations on Fiscal Year 2027 budgets. Public Services Director Ray Jodoin presented an operating budget of $4,067,197 covering parks, sidewalks, infrastructure and utilities, with snow and ice operations budgeted at $458,935.
Acting City Engineer Jay Carroll presented approximately $10.5 million in capital improvement investments, including a notable Willow Avenue sewer relocation project supported through local and external funding sources.
