Board of Health Sets 2026 Priorities on Synthetics, Social Marijuana

SALEM — The Salem Board of Health approved prior meeting minutes on a 4-0 vote with Chair Sara Moore abstaining and set 2026 priorities including synthetics regulation, social marijuana consumption rules, and urban agriculture updates. Health Agent David Greenbaum reported that the Salem Food Store on North Street faces potential tobacco permit revocation if it does not appeal a denied state license violation within 60 days. The Board also welcomed new City Council Liaison Erin Turowski, a veterinarian and Ward 1 Councillor, and discussed Narcan distribution across five city boxes, reporting active use and community outreach efforts.
