SALEM — Board of Assessors approves 17 tax abatement requests, denies 19 in February meeting. The Board reviewed and voted on FY2026 applications for Real Estate and Personal Property tax abatements under the provisions of Chapter 59, Section 59 of state law. Board Members Richard Jagolta Jr. and Tina Zelano were present to vote; Board Member Robert Millerick was absent.
Among the 19 denied applications were requests from residents and representatives of multiple solar companies with properties throughout Salem, while 17 applications from individual property owners and businesses received approval.
