Salem Redevelopment Authority approves tabernacle conversion to veteran housing. The authority unanimously approved adaptive reuse of the Salem Tabernacle Congregational Church at 50 Washington Street into 48 permanent supportive housing units for at-risk veterans, with ongoing use of space by the church. The Design Review Board recommended the project on March 25.

The board also unanimously approved Phase 2 design review for the 73 Lafayette Street health center and amended demolition conditions requiring demonstrated financing commitments.
